Punta Dufour (4634 m)
Dufour is the highest summit of the Monte Rosa massif and the second highest summit of Europe. The itinerary is imposing because of the precipice on Macugnaga that can be admired during the ascent and because of the airy ridge which arrives to the summit. This ascent is reserved for those who have a good physical condition and are able to use crampons both on ice and rocks.
Day 1: meeting with the guide in front of the ticket office of the lift in Staffal at 2.30 pm, check of the equipment and ski lift to Punta Indren (3270 m). Departure to Mantova hut (3498 m) that will be reached in around 1 hour walking. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: departure at dawn and arrival after around 6 hours and a half on Dufour peak (4634 m). Brief stop, return to Mantova hut and then descent to Punta Indren. Arrival at Staffal at4.30 pm approximately.
Difficulty: AD moderate alpinist difficulties both on ice and rock, ice and snow slope steep (40°), third grade climbing. A good physical condition and ability of using crampons both on ice and rock.
Difference in height for the two days: around 1400 m

The rate includes: private guiding fees, rent of axe, crampons and harness.
The rate excludes: ticket of the lifts, half board in the hut for client and guide, beverage and extras in the hut, lunch for the guide and the client.
