Stage Monte Rosa
An intense four-day program, designed to explore the Monte Rosa massif by climbing 5 of its 4,000 and at the same time to learn the "cramponnage" technique, self-rescue maneuvers and safely run the glacier roped party.
Program
1st day: Meeting with the guide at the ticket office of the facilities in loc.
Staffal at 2.30 pm, viewing of the materials and ascent with the plants to the Bettaforca hill (2700m).
Departure on foot with destination Quintino Sella refuge (3585 m), which is
reached in about 3 hours and a half walk. Dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day:Departure at dawn and arrival in about 3 and a half hours at Punta Castore
(4226 m). Stop for photos of the summit and return to the Quintino Sella refuge for
lunch. In the afternoon, exit to the glacier for the self-rescue lesson, where
it will be explained how to make a hoist to retrieve a companion who has fallen
into a crevasse. We will also discuss the topics concerning the methods of
rope-binding, the progression of the rope on a snowy ridge and on a glacier.
Dinner and overnight at ref. Quintino Sella.
3rd day: Crossing of the Naso del Lyskamm (4100 m) passing at the foot of the south
walls of the Lyskamm. This route is part of the historic "Trofeo Mezzalama" ski
mountaineering race. After passing the Naso, go down to the plateau below to
climb the Cristo delle Vette located on the top of the Balmenhorn (4167 m) -
packed lunch. In the afternoon we reach the Capanna Regina Margherita (4554 m),
the highest refuge in Europe. Dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: After admiring one of the most beautiful and evocative sunrises in the
world, leave the refuge to go up to the nearby Punta Zumstein (4561 m). Then go
down the Colle del Lys and climb the last 4,000 of the stage, the Pyramide Vincent
(4215 m). Descent to the Mantova hut for lunch and to follow in-depth the
topics covered on the 2nd day. Expected return to Staffal at about 4.30pm.
Difficulty: from F to PD- ascent on glacier and airy ridges– a good physical condition is required, especially considered the duration of the stage

The rate includes: private guiding fees, rent of axe, crampons and harness.
The rate excludes: ticket of the lifts, half board in the hut for client and guide, beverage and extras in the hut, lunch for the guide and the client.
