West Lyskamm 4417 m

The Western Lyskamm is located along the border line between Italy (Aosta Valley) and Switzerland (Canton of Valais). The trip includes an overnight stay at the Quintino Sella refuge, from where you can admire the south face. The first part of the itinerary is the same as the ascent to Castore, up to the Felik pass. From here you leave the track that climbs towards Castore and instead head towards the crest of the west slope of the Lyskamm. To get to the summit, you have to walk along fairly exposed ridges and a slope of snow and rocks that can reach 45 °.

2nd day. Departure at dawn and arrival in about 5 hours at the summit of Western Lyskamm. Return along the same route to Quintino Sella, descent on foot to the Bettaforca pass and arrival in Staffal at around 4.30 pm.
